Nimo evaluates new method for detecting early signs of corrosion
Drying cabinets and other products in the laundry room are exposed to moisture on a daily basis and the requirements for rust protection are high. The Assar Lab, part of Science Park Skövde, has a CT scanner. Among other things, it can detect very small changes in materials, even below the surface. An project of innovation is now underway to evaluate how CT scanning can be used as part of Nimo's product development.
"If there is a possibility of detecting rust before it becomes visible or of seeing defects in the material that could become a breeding ground for rust, this is something we of course have to evaluate," says Christian Bergman, product developer at Nimo.
